MC232 Features: The MC232 is the universal interface tool which allows a RS232 test device, monitor, analyzer, or BERT, to work with V.10/11/35/36 RS422/449/423/530 interfaces.

Capabilities
The MC232 is a very cost effective way to expand the capabilities of your present RS232 test equipment. The MC232 converts V.10, V.11, V.35, V.36, RS422, RS449, RS423, and RS530 to the more common RS232. The MC232 allows a single RS232 test device such as a monitor, protocol analyzer, or BERT tester, to work with a variety of interfaces. The MC232 converts BOTH the send and receive sides of a serial circuit.
Transmission Speed
Maximum 200 Kbits per second, guaranteed 115.2 Kbits per second.
Included Cables
T-cables for ease of use are included for each interface. Also a screw terminal cable for RS-422 and one DT cable to power a second device.
Power
One 9 volt battery or wall adapter. Maximum current 170mA. The DC connector has 2.5mm mono plugs on both sides. Power LED lights at minimum of 7 volts.

Operation Modes

MONITOR:
Both serial lines are passed through to the RS-232 monitoring device.
DTE:
The RS232 device is treated as a terminal, transmission is from pin 2(TD) and reception is on pin 3 (RD).
DCE:
The RS232 device is treated as a Data Communications device such as a MODEM.
